Woman killed by falling tree in Victoria

A 49-year-old woman died after being struck by a fallen gum tree while walking across a basketball court at Highview Christian Community College in Maryborough on June 30 after Victoria after strong winds lashed much of the state.
Horsham was worst hit with falling trees doing damage to units and cars.
Trees falling on power lines caused state-wide blackouts.

Man chainsaws his own chest instead of tree

In the news today, a man in Jacana, Victoria has sliced open his own chest while trying to cut a tree.
And another fell over 20 metres to the ground in Tyabb, Victoria while trying to lop branches.
UPDATE : There is word of mouth on Tree World that the man involved in the Tyabb incident, an experienced climber later died at age 34 from his injuries. This is a very sad thing to happen.
