Arbor Day and Arbor Week
Arbor Day, an Australian tree planting tradition begun in 1889, has come again. Most states observe this day despite its low profile. There is also a National Tree Planing Day for schools coming on July 28th and July 30 (depending on the state).
Arbor Day’s roots are believed to be in Nebraska, United States where it was founded in 1872, but went global in the mid 1880s.
